Running has been one of the constants of my life. Across decades, different jobs, setbacks, and joys, lacing up and heading out the door has always been there. Now in my sixties, I still run five days a week. I’ve raced marathons around the world, logged more miles than I can count, and collected my share of medals. But some of my favorite runs are still the quiet half marathons I do on my own, without a bib or a finish line.
What running has taught me is surprisingly simple. Progress doesn’t come from magic formulas or complicated charts. It comes from rhythm, patience, and learning to listen to your body. Over the years, I devoured training books looking for insight, but too often the good advice was buried under jargon and theory. I wanted a way to make running easier to understand, not harder.
That search gradually turned into a mission. I began sharing what I had learned with friends, family, and runners I met and coached along the way. I’ve worked with everyone from new mothers returning to running to MMA athletes pushing their limits. I trained with them, encouraged them, and focused on the simple habits that actually work. The response was always the same: “You should write this down.”
This book is my answer to those voices. What felt natural to me because it was clear, practical guidance grounded in experience turned out to be exactly what others were looking for. As one friend put it, “Finally, a running method that’s simple enough to follow and powerful enough to work.”
RunShift™ is built on years of experience and countless miles. It’s straightforward, adaptable, and designed for runners of all ages and levels.
